I confess that I’m posting about a recipe that’s not even good enough to show you, just so I can humiliate my kid*. I think maybe I should guest post on 1000 Reasons I’m a Crap Mom this week.
Too much curry paste, a little too much salt, and I left out some of the veggies in the recipes I kluged together to make these. So basically, they’re not ready yet, but they’re getting there, and when I have a recipe for you, I’ll cough it up.
They were sure pretty, though, and they did make a good snack, both hot and cold. I’m confident the next batch will be much better.
Here’s what the batter looked like:
Now, the kid doesn’t much like fish, though she tolerates it if it’s not too fishy.
She hated these.
Me, to the kid: “I need a picture of you making that face.”
Her: “Give me ten bucks?”
Me: “Okay, but you have to let me put it on the blog.”
Her: “You’re EVIL.”
*pause*
“Okay.”
And she ordered cheap Chinese food with that money. Hey, whatever works.
She’s such an artist that she even insisted on taking another bite so the revulsion would be authentic. I don’t deserve her. Good thing she comes cheap.
*Now that she’s an adult, I probably should stop calling her “the kid”, but some habits die hard.
